Westinghouse Digital Electronics has launched a new lineup of LCD HDTVs, LCD computer monitors and digital photo frames at CES 2007. The most interesting product is the 56" Quad monitor, the first LCD with 3840 x 2160 resolution (greater than eight megapixel). The quad LCD is actually made with 4 LCDs. Each LCD has a resolution of 1920 x 1080.
Westinghouse says that the high end display is ideal for medical, military, aerospace and government markets and also for digital content creators. It has a response time of 8 ms, a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and an advanced color gamut to display the broadest color range. The monitor also has an ADD RS232 connection and multiple panel configurations making it ideal for a video wall. No info on the price as yet.
Their 'TX' lineup of 1080p displays is as follows: 42" TX-42F430S LCD HDTV (Available April 2007; MSRP $1,999); the 47" TX-47F430S LCD HDTV (Available April 2007; MSRP $2,499); and the 52" TX-52F480S LCD HDTV (Available May 2007; MSRP To-Be-Announced). All feature a bright flat panel, high contrast ratio, fast response time, 1920 x 1080 progressive scan resolution and a series of connectors that include four HDMI, two Component, Composite, S-Video and one VGA.
Their photo frame range includes: 14.1" DPF-1411 (Available Q2 2007; $399) 10.2" DPF-1021 (Available Q2 2007; MSRP $249) 8" DPF-0801 (Available Q2 2007; MSRP $179) 7" DPF-0702 (Available Q2 2007; MSRP $119) and 5.6" DPF-0562 (Available Q2 2007; MSRP $99). The photo frames have features like multiple transitions and variable speeds for slideshows. They also take in a wide variety of memory cards that include, CF I/II, MD, MS, MS Pro, MS Duo, MS Pro Duo, SD, MMC and XD.
