WoW: The Burning Crusade

WoW: The Burning Crusade
With the success that World of Warcraft achieved (close to 7 million subscribers), it was only time before Blizzard released an expansion to keep gamers hooked. With Burning Crusade (BC) Blizzard Entertainment opens the Dark Portal to allow gamers to crossover to the treacherous broken realm of the Outland, where they'll fight the Burning Legion to save Azeroth once again. Players can traverse the broken landscape on the back of flying mounts that will be available to them through this expansion. The Expansion also gives you access to two spankin’ new races:

The Draenei:
Available Classes: Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Priest, Shaman and Mage.

The Draenei are a fat and ugly (especially the male ones) alien race, who follow the preaching of Naaru and are sworn to uphold the light. They used to be a merry bunch settled on their homeland 'Draenor', where they coexisted with the once peaceful Orcs, until one day the Orcs got corrupted and decided to kick some draenei ass, which consequently forced them to flee their homeland. Years later, when they found out about how the Alliance (and the Horde off course) vanquished the Burning Legion, they decided to return to Azeroth and ally with the Alliance. Owing it to Blizzard’s storyline tradition, something goes terribly wrong on their inter-dimensional space crystal ware (another name for their majorly out-of-place space-ship) which they used to get back to Azeroth and it crashes down on the isolated island 'Azuremyst' in Azeroth.

The Draenei's crash landing mutates the life forms around the site due to the radiation from the ship's reactor (wait a minuite; inter-dimensional travel and life form mutation…? Is this turning into just another SciFi game?).

So, being the oh-so-righteous-care-bear-wannabe-space-night-elves that these draenei are, your first few quests involve curing these life forms off the mutations that your ship has caused. The quests streach over a vast region and will require players to run around alot. While the quests might not be too appealing, the racial traits are pretty sweet. The heal-over-time spell known as "Gift of the Naaru" is an awesome boon to the arsenal of draenei warriors, and can save their ass in sticky situations every now and then. They get a racial +10 to shadow resistance too, much like the Undead and 'Heroic Presence' which gives all party members additional chance to hit (now isn’t that God-like!). So, for all of you out there who love the Alliance and want to re-roll a race, Draenei sounds like a decent choice; especially for those of you horde wanna-bees who want to play an alliance shaman.
